"If you haven't got anything nice to say about anyone, come sit next to me" - Alice Roosevelt Longworth
Anytime & Anywhere

Lately I have got a crazy schedule. So, I cannot have time to meditate in the traditional Zen style. Yet, there is a wisdom in one of many Zen text books. The wisdom says, "We do not need to be deep in a quiet mountain to meditate. When we can forcus on the meditation, we can reach a peaceful place in the burning hell."

So, what is the most important thing in the Zen? It should be the breathing technique. When you can breath currectly, you can meditate anytime & anywhere. You don't need to sit down or have a lotus position. You can meditate on a chair at your favorite coffee shop, where you go during your lunch break. Actually, in this afternoon, I was at a coffee shop in the downtown Kyoto and had a peaceful moment.

Well, anybody wanna try?

Gassho,

Taka

I work in the basement at a Tyson Foods chicken processing plant. We processes 1 million chickens or more a week. Thre are 36 trucks coming and going. 2 dozen men hanging live chickens to be slaughtered. You have to wear ear plugs at all times. I try to meditate while all of this is going on. I have migraines almost daily so this calmness helps.
